I am fabulous.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Yes, I do love a good cliche, no I will not apologise for it!

Yesterday after 18 months of tests, prodding, stabbing, inspecting and wrestling moody surgery receptionists I have a diagnosis. Fibromyalgia. Non life-threatening, non-progressive but a down right pain in my… well everywhere actually!

After reading a fabulously blunt, honest and eye-opening book, I have decided to replace my negative thinking and replace with what I will call ‘helpful thinking’ – How to be Happy (No Fairy Dust or Moonbeams Required)No more beating myself up, over thinking things, being ridiculously oversensitive and ‘catastrophising‘.

If you care to join me on my quest to manage my fibro and simply be happy, then keep reading and follow my blog. We we are both fabulous and we must not forget it! (But we most likely will because the fibrofog will make sure of that!) Repeat after me… I am fabulous.

It's hard to be happy when someone is mean to you all the time. Be nice to yourself.

  1. I love it – what a refreshing change! i was retired early on medical grounds in January and although i miss my job and colleagues i do try to find joy in the small things in life like walking my dog on the beach last week when i was having a good day. I have also joined a reading group at my local library, made new friends and whiled away an hour or two reading today whilst i am laid low with a viral infection.

    • Thanks Elaine 🙂 That sounds like the perfect way to enjoy your retirement. Doing new things, especially meeting new people is good fun, or interesting at least! I love animals, however bad my mood is they make me feel better! A walk on the beach sounds perfect, I must borrow my parents dog and do the same. Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, hope you feel better soon!
